Bihar Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) is a vital initiative by the Government of Bihar that supports students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), and Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) in pursuing higher education beyond the 10th grade.
The Bihar post-matric scholarship program seeks to reduce financial burdens, enabling students to continue their academic journeys without economic constraints. To qualify for the Bihar Post Matric Scholarship 2024-25, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
- Should have passed the 10th grade and be enrolled in post-matric courses such as Intermediate, Graduation, Post-Graduation, ITI, Diploma, B.Ed, Medical, Engineering, Law, Management, or Agriculture in recognized institutions within Bihar.
- The annual family income should not exceed ₹3,00,000.
- It must belong to the SC, ST, BC, or EBC categories.

Bihar Scholarship 2025-26
The Bihar Scholarship is a helpful program started by the Bihar government to give money to students who come from families that don’t have much money or belong to special groups like SC, ST, BC, and EBC. This scholarship helps students from Class 1 to college to keep studying without dropping out because of money problems.
One of the most important parts of this program is the Post Matric Scholarship, which helps students who have passed Class 10 and are studying in colleges or technical schools.
To be eligible for the Bihar Scholarship, students must live in Bihar, belong to one of the eligible groups, and their family’s yearly income should be less than ₹3 lakh. The money given depends on what the student is studying and can be between ₹2,000 to ₹15,000 per year. Some students in top colleges can even get up to ₹4 lakh.

E kalyan Bihar Scholarship 2025
The E-Kalyan Bihar Scholarship is a program started by the Bihar government to help girls go to college and study more. It is made especially for girls who belong to groups like SC (Scheduled Castes), ST (Scheduled Tribes), OBC (Other Backward Classes), or minority communities. The goal is to give these girls a better education chance and make things more fair for everyone. The Department of Welfare looks after the program. Only SC/ST girls whose family income is ₹2,50,000 or less per year can apply and must live in Bihar. For OBC girl applicants, the minimum family income should not exceed 1.5 lakhs.
There are two main types of scholarships in this program:
- Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana for Class 10+2 Girls – This gives ₹10,000 one time to girls who are not married, live in Bihar, and have passed Class 12 from the Bihar Board.
- Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana for Graduate Girls—This gives ₹25,000 one time to girls who finish their college graduation. It helps prevent girls from dropping out of school after high school.
